After Irma Contractor Scam
The Sint Maarten Police Force has received several complaints regarding fraudulent activity from the company Trilogy Multi Service. Based on these complaints the Fraud department of the police has launched an official investigation in to the matter.
Complaints received to the department claimed that the owner with initials L.U. of Trilogy Multi Services presented himself as a home contractor to several persons in need of desperate home repairs after the passing of hurricane Irma in 2017. Desperate home owners paid L.U. large amounts of money hoping to begin their home repairs as soon as possible but never received any of the services that were paid for.
In connection with this investigation the police department is asking anyone who may have been victim of this criminal act by this company/ person to contact the detective department at, 542 2222 ext. 217, to file an official complaint by the fraud department of the Sint Maarten Police Force.
Robbery awareness training at Telem Group
The Sint Maarten Police force in an effort to provide a safer environment for residents and visitors to the island provided its first robbery awareness training session for the year with the staff of the Telem Group, on Thursday 8th March 2019.
The training session was broken down into two parts which consisted of a theoretical and practical part administered by the Police Force Arrest Team which is certified in tactical training.
Upon request of the company, the Sint Maarten Police force provides the robbery awareness training free of charge to any business, to help business owners and their employees better deal with the situation in the event they become victims of a robbery. The training was well attended and the staff had a firsthand experience during the practical part on how to stay safe in an event a robbery does occur while at work.
These safety trainings are available to all and are being conducted with several business entities that have requested them from the police. (see pictures)
