Police seeking information from community
The Detective Department is still conducting the investigation into the shooting of a male victim with initials K.R.T. which took place on Thursday December 21st. 2017 around 06.15 p.m. at West Indian Village in Dutch Quarter. Video footage of the incident was retrieved and as a result hereof two men identified with initials N.C.F. and C.D.W. were arrested as suspects in this case. The investigating officers however needs to speak to anyone who were in the vicinity of the Chinese Store when the shooting took place or who has additional information in connection with this case to immediately contact the Detective Department by calling 54-22222 ext. 208 or 214.
Suspect extradited to the U.S.
On February 16th 2017 a male suspect was arrested at the Princess Juliana International Airport by the Police Alpha Team and Immigration officers while travelling on a false Polish passport. The identity of the suspect was investigated and it was established that his true identity is L.M.R.
L.M.R. appeared to be on Interpol’s red notice wanted persons list, as a suspect involved in a large fraud scheme committed in Florida U.S.A. in the period of 2006 through 2012. The suspect in question was detained on Sint Maarten during the judicial extradition process, which resulted in him being handed over to the US Marshalls on PJIA on Monday afternoon.
Three minors arrested for theft
On Monday March 26th three minors identified with initials I.S.S. (17), K.S.C. (16) and M.R.M.P (16) were arrested as suspects in an investigation regarding the theft of bicycle of considerable value. The bicycle in question was stolen on February 28th 2018 and was retrieved and confiscated during the investigation. After questioning of the suspects they were all released pending a conditional dismissal.
